A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated §18A-4-1b, relating to increasing pay to teachers and service personnel by one percent a year, for three years.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:

            That the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, be amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated §18A-4-1b, to read as follows:

ARTICLE 4. SALARIES, WAGES AND OTHER BENEFITS.

§18A-4-1b. State minimum salaries for teachers and service personnel increased over three years.

            (a) Beginning July 1, 2015, the state minimum salaries for teachers shall be in accordance with section two of this article, plus an additional one percent.

            (b) Beginning July 1, 2016, the state minimum salaries for teachers shall be in accordance with section two of this article, plus an additional two percent.

            (c) Beginning July 1, 2017, the state minimum salaries for teachers shall be in accordance with section two of this article, plus an additional three percent.

            (d) Beginning July 1, 2015, the minimum monthly pay for each service employee shall be in accordance with section eight-a of this article, plus an additional one percent.

            (e) Beginning July 1, 2016, the minimum monthly pay for each service employee shall be accordance with section eight-a of this article, plus an additional two percent.

            (f) Beginning July 1, 2017, the minimum monthly pay for each service employee shall be in accordance with section eight-a of this article, plus an additional three percent.

 


            NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to increase pay to teachers and service personnel by one percent a year for three years.
